    Yes you can. But you still risk getting your socks wet as it gets
    deeper towards the Steall side of the river.

    The guy in front of me rolled up his trousers and crossed the river
    holding his shoes and socks in one hand. Of course he slipped but
    luckily for him his father made the crossing (using the wirebridge) 5
    minutes earlier. His son had lost a shoe but his father could fish it
    out of the river with a wooden stick. Otherwise it would have gone
    down the gorge. After seeing all this I decided to put everything
    (shoes, socks, altimeter) in my rucksack. A wise decision. I slipped
    also and had to use both hands. On the way down from An Garbhanach we
    decided to cross the wider part of the river. Didn't take our shoes of
    and ran across. A thrilling (and slippery) experience.

    Me too. On the way back, with only the downstream walk left, I just
    let my feet get wet.

    BTW - did you manage to get down An Garbhanach the "right" way? I
    carelessly missed the right turn in the path and was half way down
    to the falls before realising :-(

    Yes, no probs. Just blue sky and excellent visibility.
