A REPOST:
One year for Christmas, back when we all still exchanged presents, my
sister-in-law had asked for a rubber duck, and we said OK. Well, we
did buy her a rubber duck, but I also went to the carnival supply
store
and bought her a rubber chicken, and we wrapped that up and gave it to
her. You should have seen the look when she tore away the paper,
thoroughly expecting a rubber duck
http://www.toymania.com/news/images/0703_duck.jpg
only to have a rubber chicken
http://www.magicfactory.com.au/shop/images/rubberchick.jpg unfold in
all its rubber chickenly glory. She had to have been thinking, "Rubber duck...rubber chicken. How
could they have gotten those two things mixed up?"After a good laugh, we gave her the duck. That was 18-19 years ago.
The duck is long gone, but she still has the rubber chicken.--Bryan

I love my S-i-l, but she is one of the bozo-type Christians. She
doesn't even let her kids watch Harry Potter movies. HEY, the new
Harry Potter movie is out in a couple of days. We're planning on
seeing it Friday. The new book--the final one--is soon to follow.

I just had dinner. French onion soup with croutons and gruyere and
sliced tomatoes with local balsamic and salt. I don't know what type
of tomato they are..they're smaller than plum tomatoes but larger than
cherry. THey're slightly pointy at one end. They're absolutely
fantastic.--
