No.. Ebay.. someone... help.. stop me!

It amazes me the amount of [censored] for bikes there is on eBay. I have picked up some bargains but watch out for the prices. SJS Cycles (Robin Thorn) had some brake levers on there that sold for over £15, on his shop website he had them for less than £10 ! Not Robins fault, he started them very low and the bidders went mad.

Just bid for lots of stuff and don't pay up. You'll pretty quickly get a low rating and no one will
sell to you thus allieviating the bankrupty and temptation ;-)

Yeah you can get a bargain but you can also be stung. I always check for the normal retail price
before I confirm a bid. Usually a quick google seach away!

Some people seem to make a living out of finding stuff cheap and advertising it on e-bay. I've seen
Lidl bike computers up there going for several time the shop price and sets of suspension forks
turned up in some numbers when a German bike shop had a really special offer on them.

I found a seller recently who sells ONLY Lidl and Aldi specials. Wherever he lives he clears out his
local on a weekly basis.

Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one. On the other hand perhaps you're bidding against me....:!

I've been at it ever since I got tempted by Pete Biggs' Brooks saddle which he announced here, and
got sniped on it. Out of frustration I put a bid in on something else, and now I find myself in the
process of building a whole new bike .. over £400 spent so far and I still haven't got wheels, forks
or brakes for it... Pete - you've got a lot to answer for ;-)!

Another eBay victim here .... current count is 12 bikes in the garage, about 4 "projects" in various
states of dismantling or construction - and another machine waiting for me to collect it (an ex Post
Office thing) .... now, if anyone knows of a butcher's bike (small front wheel type, with stand)
then I may be your man .....

heh, used to be the same here till they closed my account- that slowed me down, i still bid but mainly buy from sites, especially in the summer when most ebay sellers take a brake as most people wont be bidding coz there also having a brake- good tyime to buy if someone is selling what you want though
