You have to register if you want the 450kb/sec stream, but the 100/kb isn't bad.

What a country. We can't even watch the 100th Tour de France with Lance (a US rider no less, that
had cancer) winning a tying fifth in a row. You got to love the f'n US. This could be such a great
story, but we don't even seem to care over here. I see so many road bikes where I live. It is hard
to believe no one really cares, but I guess not.

I emailed OLN about this issue two weekends ago. They have a contractual obligation with CBS over
this issue, they are hoping to renegotiate this issue for next year.

So , I guess you didn't watch the coverage *last* Sunday, or the Sunday before that, either? (hint,
you can watch it all at 8:30PM EST). Like it or not, the contracts gives the live coverage rights
for the TdF to another network. A network that would rather show you golf informercials than live
bike racing.

I guess you didn't watch the time trial coverage yesterday either, did you? Yesterday, OLN had a
banner going past the bottom of the screen advertising coverage *tonight* (Sunday) at 8:30PM. OLN
advertised the Sunday coverage schedule on the preceding two Saturdays as well.

So, I guess the only day you were going to watch the TdF was the final day...

This newsgroup is full of rants about OLN-TV's coverage. But, please keep in mind that we're
actually getting to see the stages! It wasn't that long ago that all we could see was 15 minutes
from a general topic sports program with sportscasters who would rather been interviewing a
professional wrestler or something. "So Snake, what do you have to say to all the folks who claim
professional wrestling is fake!"

There are plenty of people that care, but the thing is CBS are [censored], just like ABC and NBC who
have this bizarre notion that people would prefer a pre-packaged tape delayed segment complete with
cheezy music and human interest stories. We see it time and time again with the Olympics and the
World Cup. During last years World Cup ABC wouldn't let ESPN show certain key games live because
they wanted to show it tapedelayed 8 hours later.

If CBS don't want to preempt their regular Sunday morning programming then they could let OLN show
it live and then run their pre-packaged pile of [censored] later on in the day for the hallmark crowd.

Because CBS would like to keep half of a million viewers who want to watch SOMETHING a.s.a.p.
(presuming OLN gets 1M viewers and about 1/2 of them watch the CBS show) and they paid for the
rights to make it that way?

the bottom banner to be honest, although I do remember seeing it. I had to drive to a friends home
to watch it on OLN, because my cable company doesn't have that channel. You may want to not assume
so much about someone. We all don't have OLN in our homes and have to drive 20+ miles to watch it.
CBS is a joke. It is the final day of the Tour and they don't even show it. I e-mailed them my
complaint, not that it will do any good.

It is a joke that they didn't show it, period. It is a huge story and these big media idiots could
