  1. I know that muscle burns more calories than fat does, even when you are
    not doing anything.
Thats why if you gain muscle then you lose more calories.

I heard that in the past (70s) the bodybuilders (Arnold, Franco, etc)
    didnt do any cardio.
The fact that they had a lot of muscle probably had some to do with it
(not to mention the roids) but Im suprised they were able to get as
ripped as they were, if they truely did not do cardio.

Last year, Ryan Reynolds in Blade Trinity worked out for the role.
According to interviews, this was his workout:
"workouts were about 2-3 hours. generally starting off with around 500
    - 1000 sit-ups. then heavy weights for bulk. i'm a pretty scrawny guy
so we cut cardio entirely and just focused on bulking up. weight
training involved a variety of excercises too numerous to mention at
reps of about 8-12, for 6 days a week"

So he did not do any cardio also, but he appeared really ripped for the
    movie.
Of course, he had advantages most of us do not (trainers,
nutritionists, special supplements), but is it really possible to get
    that ripped/cut without cardio?

    Here's 2 pictures of him:

  2. Yes, it can be done. Actually it is very easy.

I lost about 9 kgr (from 85 down to 76 kgr) exercising mostly with weights.
It took me about 2-3 months. I also did a "little" of swiming (about 15
minutes/day and for about 20 days).

But you have to reduce your calorie intake. Take much protein, 5-7 meals
    per day etc etc etc.

But he gained weight, about 20lbs (they claim).

I thought the usual way was to bulk up and then cut weight.

You asked if you can loose weight (get ripped) whithout aerobic, just with
weights. I answered you YES, I have done it. Now, I don't care what he
did. Most probably they are lying to sell more tickets or whatever they are
selling. They may want to promote a program/machine/supplement. And they
will never tell you what illegal drugs he took in the process.

This is correct. Which means that it is possible someone to do something
different. This will be the UNusual way.

    that would be cardio, essentially

Yeah right, sitting in a bathtub and farting is "cardio" too, right?
REAL cardio is running, or continuous exercise on a machine. Situps
may give your heart some cardio, but anyone who runs distance knows
it's no where close to real cardio.

Thats kinda what I thought 2+ hours of anerobic exercise would be
    cardio.

But would that be enough to pretty cut up?

Plus, I always thought that workouts had to be under an hour,
    preferably under 45 minutes.
Something about more than an hour, you deplete your growth hormones too
    much?

But he worked out for over 2 hours a day

Some people simply do not need cardio to get ripped - and I mean competition
BBer ripped. I have been in the best competition shape of my life without
cardio. I have done cardio to accelerate the fat loss when necessary, but
only because of time/deadline restrictions. Losing fat is much more about
nutrition than cardio. That is not to say that cardio is not required for
some. I have yet to meet a ripped woman who got that way without cardio.
