I am dismayed that Nissan refuses to stand behind their product after the warranty has expired.

Hopefully none of you will consider buying Nissan when shopping for a new automobile - clearly they
are a shameful company set out to ripoff their customers.

The Nissan could still be used for its primary purpose: driving.

The frame could no longer be used for its primary purpose: it was considered too dangerous to do so
by an expert.

had lasted 14 years before something broke.

Does Bianchi's one year warranty extend across their whole product line, or only on certain products
designed for high performance racing? I do not believe that high performance racing products would
fall under a category 'durable goods' as defined by greater than 1/2 decade of use.

Actually I suspect it's an Italian thing. I bought a new Ducati 998 this year in May and it's been in the shop for warrenty work three of the five months I had it. Plus when I bought it there was a giant strip of paint on the front of the gas tank that was ripped off, the dealer said, "you'd be surprised what the Italians will let slide outta their factories."

Like all Italian things though, it is beautiful and worth the quirks. All work was covered under the warrenty and the dealer let me ride another bike while mine was in the shop so it's cool.

Had 279,000 on my '86 TBird turbo coupe, all on original turbo. What did it in? Michigan winters and
salt, for the most part, a broken motor mount eventually. My '98 Dakota needed a new alt and front
seal at < 70,000. I'm wondering if it'll last until paid off.

OTOH, my bikes seem have considerably shorter livespans. Constant run of parts on MTB, but that's
the nature of it's intended use. Road bikes, less parts, but tires and tubes should be bought by the
dozen, sheesh.

I do not know the answer to this question. I

did not imply that one should expect more than five years use: upto.

On similar products (regards quality and price) other manufacturers (such as Cannondale) offer
lifetime guarantees.

I therefore suggest that simply offering a warranty of one year is not sufficient to limit the
manufacturer's liability for defects to that period only. A more specific warning is appropriate.
