I like that advert. It's simply the joy of being on the
bike. It's a "gentle" advert. Compared to the multitudinous
adverts on the box for football, where there's always some
sort of greater or lesser degree of violence in them, this
advert is classy.

Read "It's not about the bike" week before last. It took me
just two nights to read. I couldn't put it down till I had
literally fallen asleep. I'd started reading it around
midnight - come 3am I was still reading, both nights,
absolutely gripped by it.

I've seen the Lance/Nike (Don't just ride. Race.) hoarding
up around Southampton advertising the new Nike store in town
(which doesn't sell any cycling stuff -- ha!).

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I found it a nice
balance between cycling, cancer, and life - it gave me a
better insight into the life of a cyclist riding to make a
living, but also brought home just how tough it is to fight
cancer, and how much it affects those around you. Parts made
me laugh, other parts made me cry (not often a book manages
that but there's a section in there that I'm rather more
familiar with than I'd otherwise like to be). Yes sometimes
you think 'what, how on earth could he say/do that' - but
when you understand the background, then you see how and why
it might be.

I'll not say more than that, don't want to give too
much away!

Really good on my side of the pond. I've seen it a few times
now while watching live coverage of the Giro on OLN (Outdoor
Life Network - US cable service).

After that read Graham Obree's book, that's a one nighter,
the covers seem to have Velcro on them and the pages turn
automatically. I wept!
