I have no idea what AM has done to provoke the trolls.
You surely jest? He's world-famous!
Yes, but how did it all start ? All I can see now is some huge rolling flamewar that makes the conservation ng's entirely unreadable. There are many ng's where I kf a thread with his name in, not because I dislike him at all, but simply because I can't be bothered with the troll spoor.
You wont go far wrong KFing muppet, always been a safe bet if you like peace and quiet, but then you'll never get to know why it all started. Plus he is constantly cancel ling other peoples posts by issuing rogue cancels, highly dubious but what the heck!

It's eminently readable! Just don't read/download what doesn't interest you. Avoiding ngs because they contain trollism is a bit like avoiding the library because you don't like some of their books.

Nor do I, but he's undoubtedly (and deservingly) a troll-magnet!

Just skip what you don't want to read - it's easy. It gets even easier with practice (-:

There are limits to even Google's powers.

If a library had literal piles of Mills and Boon blocking the door, I'm unlikely to bother climbing over them.

No its like avoiding the library because of the wade across the open sewer to get to it.

Not really - that would imply that you have to read the cr*p posts in order to get to the good ones. You don't.

Your joking! Most of them don't know how to snip and he who changes names every five minutes has found a way to ensure his posts don't thread properly. UEC is a mess.

So how does that force you to read posts you don't want to read? I don't follow. The threading thing doesn't get around killfiles, and the lack of snippage isn't really relevant to killfiles or to whether you just skip to the next message.

You're not forced to read any of them, but the odd interesting thread which doesn't follow the liar!.... no I'm not...! yes you are!!!!!!!!1 I'm telling my mum!!!!!! pattern tends to get lost in a maze of unsnipped and now irrelevant post. My point was that even the good threads can be difficult to follow. The threading issue is important becuase I try and follow all the arguements even if they are sometimes knee deep in bigotry. It is galling to read the reply before I've even seen the question!

Fair enough - if you want to read everything then it's difficult. If you want to skip all that stuff it's easy! I find a lot of it quite funny - surreal, even. Some of the protagonists are desperately serious. It's a real 'theatre of the absurd'!
