Hi,
The strangest thing happened to me the other night. I was doing a short
ride around my local area (on Brisbanes Bayside) and as I was riding through
a particularly dark spot, a bat flew at my headlamp and started to bite and
scratch at it as it hung from the handle bar. (I just about shat myself
-) )
After riding 1 handed and trying to shake the bar to get the bat to rack
off, it finally flew away (obviously my light didn't taste so good)
I would like to know if anyone else has had any bat experiences while riding
at night?
The headlight I use has a hi and low beam, and when its set to low beam a
small led flashes to show the rider what mode its in. I wonder if the way
bats see things, it could have mistaken the pulsing led for a small animals
heartbeat? I suppose the light is about the size of a mouse or rat...
The thing that really made me smile when I got home, was the fact that the
text on the led of the headlamp reads "BAT INDICATOR" (*boom*, *boom*)
Anyhow i'm interested in anyone elses bat tales.
Andrew.
