It is good to read an article that rings a lot truer than the standard write
ups.

I just hope that Nicole comes high up the list in tomorrows BBC's charade (I
hope to vote twice once mobile, once landline --- I am sure lots of other
supporters of all the candidates are doing the same thing) -- but above
all I hope that she maintains her simply expressed devotion to her cycling.

And since I am in my "dotage" and keep pedalling gently on ( at about a 1/4
of her 400 miles a week rate) I wish her so much "good luck" in the future.

What a refreshingly delightful young lady and a huge asset to the cycling
community. Let's hope that when the inevitable mud slinging starts ( as it
always does in the tabloid press) her reputation overcomes that dirt. I am
sure it will.

But the road ( and I mean life's road) is hard enough without being a public
figure and it is immensely difficult to stay on the narrow track.

I sincerely wish her good fortune in cycling and continued strength of will
to survive life's knocks.

The beeb is most unlikely to care much who wins.

But they care a lot about their own popularity. The more votes they
get - in total for all candidates - the happier they'll be.

Not that you'd catch me voting in this kind of thing. Not even once.

If it's anything like normal TV votes - you can vote as many times as you
like.
