From the Denver Post 9/21/05:
"He doesn't have a doggie-size version of his owner's yellow "LIVESTRONG"
inspirational bracelet - not yet.
But Lance Armstrong's dog Rex has added his own tale of dogged survival to
the bicycling hero's saga: Rex, like his owner, has faced life-threatening
illness, fought it and triumphed.
Last month, Rex the yellow Labrador retriever underwent rare, lifesaving,
open- heart surgery at Colorado State University's veterinary hospital. "
"Rex"?--With all the creative talent of Sheryl Crow to draw from, that's the
best he can do? As (the late) Lilli von Shtoop would say: "How Ohrdinawy".
My golden retriever has a congenital heart valve defect as well--but I don't
have $10 grand, so he's on his own.....maybe I should apply for an LAF
Grant?
