  1. Oh boy, did I hit a bonanza... met a neighbor who works for the company
that provides corned beef, pastrami, pickled tongue, hot dogs,
knockwurst, etc for Katz's Deli in NYC, etal. In my fridge right now
is a cooked pickled tongue, a cooked flat cut corned beef, and a
pastrami, all vacuum packed. And I paid *wholesale*, about 12lbs of
fully cooked succulent meat for $32! Can hardly wait until tomorrow
when I will fress. I already have my order in for knockwurst; comes
10lb @ $4/lb... and these are the real deal, in natural casings
    ("Specials"😉.

And just when I had resigned myself to having to live here without
coldcuts, except for Spam, or risk getting sick from the filthy delis
    in upstate NY hillybilly land.

Was all I could do to restrain myself but I was already stuffed from a
big sausage and pasta dinner when my package arrived... will report
    back soon with the verdict.

I've seen tongue at the store, but never pickled nor have I ever eaten
it. What is the flavor like? (And don't tell me it tastes like tongue)

Hey, I just watched the _Honeymooners_ episode where Ralph has to have his
physical early in the morning, but he decides to sneek out and go bowling
the night before instead...of course he throws his back out.

It's the one where Alice comes in with Uncle Leo from Utica and Uncle Leo
slaps Ralph REAL hard on the back, saying "It's GOOOD to see ya,
Ralph!"...causing Ralph to wince in pain.

Ralph knows he should stay in but Norton taunts him about the food that will
be served, saying "..and they are going to have that Neapolitan
    knockwurst...".

Is there such a thing as "Neapolitan knockwurst" or was it just a comic
    invention...???

"Neapolitan knockwurst" is a serious kraut euphemism for "Dumb dago".
    hehe

Btw, for breakfast this morning I ate two healthy pastrami on rye, this
is soooo good, even my cats loved it.... someone pull me away from the
    fridge.

Go to a kosher deli and order a hot tongue on rye sandwich... tastes as
good as a hot tongue on crotch sandwich feels.
