I resolve not to eat dinner (supper in some people's vernacular) or snack after 8:00 PM
My food related goals are:
1. Waste far less food 2. Carefully consider my intake of highly-refined carbs 3. Eat dinner earlier (8 pm sounds good) - this and #2 should help keep my weight in the lower end of my desired range, not the higher. 4. Finally learn to cut up a chicken properly 5. Contradictory to #2, but make more pie. I got given some deep dish Pyrex pie plates that were my late grandmother's and I feel this is A Sign. (Grandma has been dead nine years, and her household was split long before that. Dunno why these just popped up in Mom's storage.)
I had three pie plates, more than I could use (as I already have a deep dish), but have already found a very good home with an appreciative pie-baking friend for one.
2. Show the people I like/love how much I care about them.
3. Stop taking [censored] from the others.
Heh...the people I love are the ones who give me the most [censored]. Isn't it that way for everybody?
Hehehe! In the case of Crash, that's absolutely true. <G>

lol, yep.
Food related: to make that Black Forest Cake that Rob wants. I even have the cherries. I just haven't built up the momentum. And after all the holiday baking and cooking (and yes, eating, sigh), I'm feeling like I'll have to take a breather before I launch that project....

I've decided mine will be:
Gain 10 lbs
Stop exercizing so much
Watch more TV
Do no more housework.
Since I never fulfill any of my New Year's resolutions, these should be just right.

Last Thanksgiving, I intended to make a Black Forest Cake, but lost my motivation when it came time to put it together. So instead, I cut the cake into cubes and made a Black Forest Trifle with cake cubes, whipped cream, sour cherries, chocolate shavings, and a kirschwasser syrup. I think it was liked better than the cake would have been!

I'm liking the sound of that. I got a bottle of cherry liqeur from a family in the Black Forest (we stayed on their farm for a couple of days), and I wanted to use it. Maybe I'll do it for Rob for Valentine's Day :-)

I love Black Forest cake, so this sounds scrumptious!
