Does this sound like a good deal?

Yes if the spokes are any good. Ideally, they should be double butted stainless steel. I wouldn't be
surprised if they were plain gauge instead which may be ok but not so reliable in the long run (or
as light). You may be able to get your existing rims rebuilt with better spokes locally.

Riding through London is no more stress on wheels than anything else.

You need to stress relieve the spokes when built, to stop them breaking. Look up Jobst Brandt on
this on the net.

It works.

I'm 14.5 stone and break no spokes now, even when touring.

www.rose-versand.de sells very nice wheelsets.
e.g. deore hubs - xtreme airline III rims (their own brand made by rigida) - dt 2.0 plain spokes 3
cross patern front and back wheels together for 78 euro. Shipping will be steep though. They
have many more wheelsets to choose from and they give a 10 year waranty against spoke breakage.

Make sure 135 mm hubs will fit the bike, though. When some new wheels went on TWFKAML's Genesis a
month or too back the hubs were Shimano 105s, which are 130 mm.
