Quoted message said:We had an early Fathers Day and a Belated Birthday celebration
last weekend and the Girls chipper in and got dear old dad (me) a
top of the line Mandoline. Aside from the blade there were several
additional blades including 2 sizes of julienne, and a crinkle cut
blade.
A great new toy.
So what would you use such a tool for?

Coleslaw!
A fresh pickle/salad of cukes, red onions and diakon.
Just "slice and dice" for required effect and place veggies in a
vinegar and slight sugar solution, as a dinner
pickle/side/extra/condement.
jicama for a salad/coleslaw pops into my thoughts.
Even slices of fresh mushrooms to aid in proper cooking.

French Fries, Pan Fries, Waffle fries.
