  1. Hi, I want to start mountain biking really bad, i live in West Virginia and I hear about how great our state is for Mountain biking. I skate boarded for about 6 years and cannot do it anymore, ive wrestled all the way through highschool and now the seasons over and i want o start something new, I just want to jump around and go fast down hills and slopes, im 18 yearsold ,5 '10 and 150 pounds and have a muscular athletic body type. Any suggestions like Hard tail, full suspension, brand, my price range is about 600 some dollars. Thanks

  2. looks like you might fit into "Freeride", in that case you need a double (full) suspension bike, the other option for you would be "downhill", similar type of bike needed, "Cross Country" involves more pedaling and more aerobic fitness, with less descends and less jumps you are low on budget, so you might need to buy second hand, be careful and don't take it for granted, falls happen all the time, for Freeride and/or Downhill you need to wear a full size helmet and protection for knees and elbows,

  3. Here i will put a video i hope you like it its me jumping in a mountain plss suscribe or put like if u liked it

  4. It all depends on what the trails are like in your neck of the woods. If they're pretty smooth then you can get away with no suspension at all. If they're gnarly as hell then a double suspension setup would be the way to go... but would likely exceed your budget by at least a couple of grand. I've seem people tackle trails on a no suspension setup that have caused other riders on older DH bikes to jam on the brakes before they [censored] their pants... Skill > setup.

Just get a bike that fits and ride.

For $600 pick up something used but "cared for" - ie no dings in the frame, wheels run true and the frame isn't bent. Alternatively, look for the offerings in clearance sales from online bike stores. 2010 models should be pretty cheap now.

  5. Individual sport requires endurance and core strength and balance, bike handling skills, and self-reliance.And XC type mountain biking generally requires a different range of skills and a higher level of fitness than other types of mountain biking.

  6. See what kind of trails you have around you. XC is popular and inexpensive...Downhill and freeride are a lot of fun, but can be more expensive b/c u need a lift..usually..Just check out your terrain and what you'd be into, and then we'll find you a bike 🙂

  12. For many years, there were few new options for mountain bikers. The stagnation was even more evident because of the flurry of new trails being built in places like Fruita, Colo., Arizona and New Mexico. Those places were luring bikers away, leaving Moab to the Jeep enthusiasts and foreign tourists. That wasn’t good for Moab’s reputation or for local businesses.
