Hello, I recently started cycling for exercise, and for fun.
I started out with a single speed diamondback that I had but quickly realized it wouldn't be any good for long distances. So I bought a new bike, San Fransisco 2, that has an internal 3 speed hub, for $650. I usually ride 18 miles on a sewer junction area called Coyote Creek / San Gabriel River Trail everyday, or every other day, and I was just wondering..
Did I get the wrong kind of bike?
Should I have gotten a 7-speed?
What kind of gear or accesories might I need?
I already have :
Specialized Vice Helmet
Specialized Arc-X Glasses
Specialized under-seat bag
Repair Kit
Water Bottle Cage
Cateye Front Light
Cateye Back Light
Are cycling shoes vital?
Will I need Cycling specific shorts / shirts?
Is it a bad Idea to wear a backpack while cycling?
(I never see any other cyclists with them)
I know it's a lot of questions, I'm sorry if I'm a 'newb' to you.
I just recently started. Please go easy on me.
