Please could you give me some advice. I'm looking to buy a road bike and have a small budget, but after searching the internet high and low have narrowed it down to three bikes: Lemond Etape Trek 1000 Giant scr 2.0
Has anybody got any views on these bikes either first hand or from friends? Are there any other options I should be considering (my budget is around £400)? Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

Giant ocr2?
The Giant ocr2 is a more relaxed geometry frame and will give you a smoother ride. The Trek 1000 is more racing oriented and will ride a little harsher. Lemond makes good bikes, owned by Trek.
All the bikes you are considering are quality bikes!
I believe the OCR 2 also has a better component package. I have a LeMond (Tourmalet) and I love it. I would have gotten the Etape if the Tourmalet was not a leftover and really reduced. LeMonds are a very comfortable ride too, you also sit a bit more upright than the Trek. They are all good entry level bikes. Take a ride on each and decide which one feels best to you.

In Cycling Plus Magazine's 2006 Bike of the Year the Giant SCR C3 got 2nd, and the Trek 1000 got 3rd, 1st went to BH L60.
All are great bikes that offer limited lifetime warranty. I would go for the carbon Giant bike. Give them all a test.

I too suggest taking a look at the carbon frames from Giant. I've got a TCR Limited and I think it rides great. My only qualm is that it came with some mediocre wheels, so I've upgraded to the Ksyrium SL's. It's super fast, but as always recommended, ride whatever bike you are looking at first... and then maybe ride another one and then ride the first one again. It always helps to get a feel for each one.
I want to know if anyone knows any info about the schwinn seneca that is sold at [censored] sporting goods..it seems much better than the walmart version..it is sold for 289..help.thanks
