  1. I have a collection of bikes with 7 speed rear gears. Most click when I
am not pedaling, like just being lazy or coasting to a stop or a fast
    downhill. One is dead silent.
The question is...Did the industry go from cheap ratchet gears to an
automotive automatic transmission one way clutch on some bikes?
That's the best guess I have.
It's kind of eerie to have a mountain bike with slicks and be able to
    coast dead silent.
    Any bicycle gear-heads out there?
