  1. I'm new on this group so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm on Wolfgang
Lutz's diet. I've been on this diet for about a year, but before it, I've
been on another low-carbo diet (Jan Kwasniewski's) for about 7 years. I'm
learning English, so I decided to take conversation with You to practice
language and and learn something new about diets.

I'm from Poland. I'm the admin of www.DobraDieta.pl (GoodDiet) site. It's
about Lutz's, Atkin's and Kwasniewski's diets. I hope to have a lot of nice
    conversations.

Welcome Tom! I'm not too familiar with either of the diets you mention and
can't read your website, but will look them up to familiarize myself. What
made you decide to change to the Lutz plan?

Jan Kwasniewski's Optimal Nutrition is the best known low-carb diet in
Poland. It was first diet I got interested in and practiced. I was convinced
by Jan Kwasniewski's book titled "Optimal Nutrition" published in 1996. His
idea was for me - that time - very coherent and brilliant. Since than I've
met many people on this diet. I noticed that not everything was as easy as
the author said it would be. I noticed that no one (diet's author too) tried
to clear up problems people on this diet had.

When I met Wolfgang Lutz, I immediately got interested in his diet. I
noticed that he has has a very long practice (longer than that of Atkins or
Kwasniewski). His diet is very simple, easy to use. Dr Lutz is a scientist,
very inquiring. I think that he himself is the best 'advertisement' of his
diet. He's almost 92 old, but still working efficiently. That was the reason
I have changed my way of nutrition and I'm sure it was a good choice.

I found some information about these two diets for you in English:

    About Kwasniewski's: http://www.ahoa.org.au/

    About Lutz's: http://www.scdiet.org/7archives/scdlutz.html

You can see dr. Lutz's photo here: http://www.dobradieta.pl/about_lutz.php

I made in last year in December.

I hope that I answer your question. For sure - I practised my English
    preparing this answer 🙂

Interesting articles! And your English is better than most who post on
    usenet - lol.

Both of those approaches are interesting; the Lutz plan involves too much
counting to keep me interested for very long though. Have you found that to
be the case, or does it look "worse" than it is?

I'm not actually using any particular plan but rather following the lead of
my common sense after studying and researching many of the LC plans over the
course of the last 2 years. Whatever - it's working quite well, so to me
the rest doesn't really matter 🙂.

I think that Lutz's plan is quite simple to use. At the beginning there is
need to count carbohydrates but then you weight food (and count
carbohydrates) 'with your eyes' 🙂 There is no need to measure and count
proteins and fat on Lutz's plan. Consumption of these two ingredients is
regulated by common sense. On Jan Kwasniewski's Optimal Nutrition - there is
need to count proteins and fat too. Maybe that's the reason that Lutz's plan
    seems very easy to me.

I have both Kwsniewski's and Lutz's book - Lutz is very informative
on all the beneficial aspects of LC while Kwasniewski doesn't bother
to give any but the most basic explanations, which I found frustrating.

If I recall rightly, both do not take exercise into account - especially
Kwasniewski, who advocates only 1g of protein per kg of
ideal bodyweight per day (would work out short of 90g for me...
I think that is too little, since I have started lifting weights.)
