  1. Hi all, I'm just about to get my new wheels put together, but I'm having a
lot of trouble finding a place that will sell me a set of DT 440 hubs. I'm
in Australia so was hoping to get them online somewhere. No luck so far.

Soooooooo, has anybody got some suggestions on some good brand hubs??

The bike is a Norco Six and its a 170mm travel downhill/all mountain rig.
All of the other components I've put on it are good qual so I'd like some
nice matching wheels (with STRONG hubs). The rims I have to go with it are
    Mavic 729 disc rims...

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers Dre

    Chris King or Hadleys

CK's will last forever. Hadleys are cheaper.

Well I'm just waiting for a reply from one place re the DT's, if thats no
good, I'll go for the CK's. Problem is the dude I would have gotten them
from on ebay only has QR front hubs (he has the rear that I need though) and
I need a 20mm. On top of that, I need the front one ASAP!

Any suggestions for good online retaillers?? forget the LBS, they would
charge me twice as much as I can (or cant atm 🙂 get them online from O/S.

    Cheers Dre

Kings are very nice, but standard DH issue is Hadley. Not sure about
availbilty in Oz though. No need to spend $$ on a 20mm front hub, a
Marzocchi hub is more than enough. It's the rear hub you need to worry
    about.

Hmmm, I'll take a look at Hadley as well then. The forks I have are
Marzocchi 66RC's and they have a 20mm front axle, hence I need a 20mm front
    hub...

I've seen the Marzocchi hubs on ebay (CHEAP AS!) and I've allways wondered
how they go, thanks for the headsup.

Re the rear, it gets the same brand hub and rim as the front so it'd be nice
to get a strong matching pair...

If you're LBS is charging you twice as much, you need to get a better
LBS or build a better relationship with your LBS.

They are all the same. Thats what happens when you live on a little island
(Tasmania) below Australia, everything is hell exxy.

I ended up getting (ordering) a set of DT 440's, $600AUS delivered to my
door which I thought was pretty good, especially since it'd cost me $345AUS
just for the front hub locally...
