    It is indeed regional but also well enough known in Scandinavia, as well
    as in the UK, where it is spelt "lobscouse", as in the very well known
    _Lobscouse & Spotted Dog_ by Anne Chotzinoff Grossman and Lisa Grossman
    Thomas. The cookbook serves as an accompaniment to Patrick O'Brian's
    naval novels.
