New freewheels

Frankly, your best bet is just to try it and see! I suspect you'll be
fine. That's if you can still buy freewheels these days ;-)

Probably. You may find the chain is a bit short, but you'll probably
have to fit a new one anyway if the freewheel is ancient.

I ran a Sachs Huret for something like 30,000 miles before replacing it with
a Campag. It still worked fine, but I liked the Campag better! I rode with
Huret and later Sachs Huret derailleurs for getting on for forty years, and
while I agree some of them weren't very good they did the job. Wouldn't
want to try to get one to shift with the precision required for an indexed
ten speed setup, mind.

It's a Raleigh Banana, and it lives up to it's name. The BB shell flexes
pretty hilariously if you give it a shove, and shifting seems to depend not
only on the mech, but also on how much the frame is bending at any one
time... Until a few weeks ago the bike was still running on the original
Raleigh "Custom" cranks.

your biggest chalenge might be just locating a freewheel of the right
dimensions. everything else will work fine
