  1. I created a candy bar on accident yesterday. Rich and I were getting
ready to teach salsa for the airport restaurant's Cinco de Mayo party,
and I had the school drive routine, plus making dinner for the kids
while we were gone (our dinner was part of our deal with the restaurant,
we taught dance, they provide us with food and drink), and just didn't
get a chance to eat much during the day. So, I decided to make a little
baggie of semi-sweet Belgian chocolate chips (if you get private
selection stuff in your stores, it's in the blue and silver bag, is
cheaper than toll house and tastes amazingly better), some toasted
unsalted cashews from TJs ($2.95/lb if you get the pieces), and dried
cherries to snack on while I was driving. I left them in the car. When
we got in the car to go to the restaurant, they were all melty and
gooey. So, Rich molded it in the bag and stuck it in the freezer. I
ate it today, and it was quite the treat. 🙂

    Regards,
    Ranee

I don't really know what the markets are like in Belgium. I buy ours
in bulk at the local grocery store, or at Trader Joe's. Do people there
make much fruitcake? Maybe there are baking shops that would have them.

    Regards,
    Ranee

Most cakes are made with apples or chocolate, I think. And for clafoutis or
a cherry crumble usually jarred cherries are used, unless they are available
fresh in summer. My local baking shop only carries cookware and utensils, I
wouldn't know of one that carries the actual food.
I'll continue my search, nevertheless thank you for your suggestions.

There's chunkier, chunkiest, chunkiness, chunkily, um, the oriental
chunking, but no Chunkie... it's Chunky. Long ago I had a lovely
girlfriend I nicknamed Chunky... hey, it sounded nicer than Bubble
    Butt. LOL
