Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit one of my riding
buddies, drink a few beers, watch the Avs blow a 3 to 1 lead
to Dallas, and talk about all the rides we'll do this summer
on our new rides.
Patrick has been riding an MB1 for many years now, and been
very happy with it, but he decided it was time to get a new
FS rig, complete with all new components. The MB1 will be
for house guests and the occasional ride down memory lane.
I have been on a FS for 5 years now, but a very nice deal
came my way. By using some of the components from the old
ride, I was able to get what I consider a very good price on
a very good ride, complete with new fork and drive train.
We're sitting on our bikes in the living room, watching the
game, complementing each other on our acquisitions, drinking
beer, playing with all the adjustments ... Patrick's wife is
enjoying this more than us, I guess we were acting like
little boys, but what does she expect. The truth is, nothing
more than she got! Besides, she was drinking Tripel as well.
We can't wait to get the bikes out, but Patrick is
traveling this week, and the local trails are very, very
muddy. It will have to wait until the weekend, if no more
rain and snow comes. I haven't had a new mountain bike in 5
years, and this is the wettest spring we have had in 5
years, go figure.
