I think most people will be riding their bikes on a Sunday morning. I can't
help you because I don't know anything about MTBs.

Let's see....your post was at 11:30pm on a Saturday night. Most people would
either be in bed or out on the town. A few people would be around, but your
post was very specifically about high end MTBs. I was nipping in and out of
the newsgroup, but I've never owned an MTB, so any response from me would be
inaccurate and based on guesswork.

Your next post was on a Sunday afternoon. It's a cycling forum. Guess where
a lot of the cyclists would be on a Sunday? Out cycling.

....I'm still here, but I haven't purchased an MTB in the intervening hours,
so my responses would not be any better than they would be last night.

It takes a bit of patience, but answers do arrive eventually. However the
aggressive tone of your second post will mean that some people who will have
replied to your first - reasonable and polite - posting, may now ignore
you.

Take it easy. Life can get a lot worse than this, save your stress for
more deserving occasions.

You might want to include the words 'helmet' or 'speed camera' to
elicit a more immediate response :-)

This is not a forum. This is a newsgroup. You are accessing it from a
forum site.

This really isn't the best place to ask this kind of question. Those that
frequent the newsgroup are unlikely to ride the kinds of bikes you are
looking at.

I agree with some of them though. No need to get angry about it, and you
really need to give more information on what you want to do with the bikes
in question. What kind of riding, where, how hard on kit are you, are you
big/small etc...

Having said that, form your question again and find somewhere better to
ask it (I know this is uk.rec.cycling but it really only covers a subset
of cycling*). Try the forums on http://www.mbuk.com,
http://www.singletrackworld.com, or http://www.bikemagic.com .

*Something to do with the personality types that use newsgroups perhaps?

Yeah. I don't have a mtb either. Last night I was busy doing other
things, like playing with some new software, and attempting to get an
early night, in preparation for the reason why I've not been lurking in
the forums today: a long ride :-)

Really, IKON, you shouldn't expect an answer quite as quick - allow at
least a day!

Can't give you any advice, cos I'm not into mtb's, but I'm sure there
are some here that could help out.. after your second post, dunno if
they'll feel inclined, mind you, but you never know.

Yeh i know i cant edit the post so it had to stay there,and i

Well i do most things i come across and on my current bike it just
keeps breaking(bent wheels n the usual stuff) and i want a bike that
wont break doing the stuff i do justnow and give me the confidence to
do more so im going for a good bike in the hope of not needing to
upgrade it alot.

i would upgrade the muddyfox to Xt but i am leanng to the kona coz i
like the frame design better and i think the forks look better but the
Super T are more expensive.

The Kona website is so hopeless that it's serving CFM pages as
text/plain so I can't get any information there. Presumably some monkey
was paid good money to write it. But essentially what you are looking
at is a 'freeride'-style bike.

First response is this isn't the right place to ask. The people who
really have good opinions on this kind of thing hang out at
<URL:http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/list.php?f=2&menu=14>. Mind
you, many of them are fashion victims.

Second thing is that Kona and Muddy Fox are both known names. They won't
be totally [censored].

Third thing is, a Cannondale Jekyll 800 with Lefty Max is only £1699
list, so why get anything less?
