I just saw a new tire in 520 x 32 that should be much more durable than the 25 and 29mm Panaracer Technovas available for those wheels.
Calhoun Cycle calhouncycle.comcalhouncycle.comOpen ↗ carries the Terry Teelus in 24 X 1 1/4" (32-520). It looks just like a Panaracer Pasella. This makes sense, as it's made by National Tire and Rubber, who make tires under the Panaracer brand for the US market. It's a blackwall, and I forgot to ask the price or if it has a kevlar belt.
These will NOT fit early Vision Sabres without a frame modification, which Calhoun has already done to one machine. Vision didn't leave any clearance in case someone came out with a slightly larger tire. Not very smart IMHO.

Thanks for the tip. Panracer has taken the 24" off it's product line for 2004. It's great to know that an alternate source is still available. BTW- from sources I read, the Panracer Technova is a very good tire with little rolling resistance.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that the Technova wasn't a good tire. For it's intended purpose I'm sure it is as good as all the other Panaracer tires I use. It's just that some people had been commenting that a bigger, beefier tire would be nice for touring.

I use a Schwalbe 1.5 on a 507 Aeroheat. I would like to try a 520 if i could find decent 22-24mm 28h aero rim to lace.

Once upon a time there were 24" Araya ADX-1 rims- I think they were 24 and 28 hole.
