I thought when I'd buy an ergomo I'd buy it brand new not through ebay. But I saw a good new ergomo pro ebay deal on a brand new ergomo just wasn't used because he claimed he couldn't use his Pulsion cranks on it. Well, I bought for $1230 shipped had it installed for $75 and my first ride was way off. Then I did an offset procedure and rode again around the block around my house. Slowing down at every corner and accelerating my interval registered at 159 W avg 74 rpm avg 13.1 mph avg. This seems like kinda high watts for that speed, but maybe my corning gave poor results. Do you think I should go with the original K factor calibration of 194? What should I do to lower the watt readings?
Next problem - there is a blue plugged serial to usb cable that came with the kit. I downloaded the drivers for it through ergomo.net since the drivers didn't come with the kit. After installing and registering the ergomo software, I have problems with the software recognizing the ergomo unit. When I do the Configure Ergomo Pro screen -> "Refresh" it says "No response from the device." What is the problem here? Is the supplied USB to Serial cable bad or is it my ergomo pro computer? Should I buy / use the recommended Keyspan USB to serial adapter sold elsewhere (would this solve the problem)? I do have the proper COM port selected.
Also, when riding, do you sometimes see high peak readings like doing 287 watts when you're only going 15 mph? I set it to 1 sec recording. Maybe the screen refreshes instantaneous watts so you can get a high reading even if you're going slow?
