Need new cyclocross bike under $2;300

FWIW. If you are actually going to be using the bike for CX racing, then look at FORT's framesets ... either buy one or use it as a benchmark against which you judge other CX bike frames ...

FORT is a Czech brand ...

There are MANY other brands which are certainly comparable ...

KONA sponsors the top CX rider(s).

If cost isn't an object, then 'I' would choose a Pinarello or Colnago frameset ... just because ...

If you are opting for a CX-type bike to use as an all-rounder, then 'I' would use REDLINE's CX bikes as the benchmarks (check EXCEL).

If you spend too much time soliciting purchase advice from "experts," most of whom are just using you to validate their own choices, you miss the opportunity to make discoveries for yourself.

F'rinstance, several years ago I had the opportunity to try my boss's Gary Fisher Presidio. This bike absolutely disappeared under me at cyclocross speeds, and if I'd needed a cyclocross bike, the Presidio would have been my hands-down choice. I didn't need a cyclocross bike, but it made that kind of impression.

Go find your own Presidio.

Good advice ... it's the reason why I suggested that the OP use the two particular frames (FORT & REDLINE) as two possible benchmarks for comparison ...

because they are both highly regarded but economically (?) priced, IMO, at under $1000 for the Redline frameset & probably about $1000 +/- for the Fort frameset (I haven't priced either, recently ... I had a Fort frame about 10 years ago, and it cost less than $1000 at the time). BTW. I'm not sure why the OP was asking because I do not believe that he is actually looking for a new bike at this moment in time or in the near future ... In a concurrent thread, the OP indicated that he was going to take delivery of a new bike THAT evening (nothing wrong with having more than one bike, of course!).
In other words, he is just "window shopping" (nothing wrong with that!) & I doubt he is planning on taking any test rides in the future AND hopefully he did not have buyer's remorse BEFORE getting his new bike!

The best bike is the one fits you,you can consider diy a bike by yourself.
