  1. ok...i need a new bike...but i dont know wat 2 choose....i have a few bikes to choose from...here they r:
    Norco Sidewinder
Giant Rincon-second hand and a few years old and quite small
    Diamondback outlook
    Mongoose rockadile AL

Basicly all these bikes are around the same prices...i have a budget of 500 Aud....i want to get the Norco but it has SIS gears....very sh**....but it looks good...i want abike for sum downhilling...not serious stuff tho...and i need my bike soon..

    cyaz...hope u guys can help...

  2. Where do you live?

  3. i live in sydney..but have a few contacts in brsbane...plz help...as u can c.... i ride a grls huffy..
    thanx m8..

  4. Well for $500 you're not going to get a bike up for DH. It will self-destruct. (I've seen a guy try DH with a DS Huffy and it lasted 50metres I [censored] u not)

As for HTs'. Trek are over priced and underspec'd.
Kona are pricey but will last forever.
Giant are ok but no HT/DH stuff unless you spend more.

I know 2 guys selling really nise HT bikes:

The first is prob your best bet. Even good second hand bikes are $$$.

  5. Hay don't knock the Huffy 🙂 That was my first full suspension bike. I pulled off a 2.5meter drop off onto flat ground ... it hurt 🙁

  6. That first one sounds like a bargain, if you can lay your hands on another 150 I'd snap it up. Just inspect it VERY closely for cracks!!!

Cheap new MTB IN Sydney cost $269.00. A Mongoose with front and rear suspension alike the cheaper ones costs $369.00 and with disc breaks and more gears costs $469.00. Others cost more.

Any value in buying more expensive bikes? My cheap MTB broke after about 90km.

Is it cost wise to buy more expensive equipment in the long run...?
