Hey all.
I've got a road-frame that I need to get on the road. I built it in '98 and have yet to ride it. I don't have a local bike shop to help me out, so I'm turning to you guys and gals.
Here's what I have so far for it...unless otherwise mentioned, all items are Campy...
Chorus headset
Athena brakes (calipers, NON-ergo levers)
Veloce BB
Chorus 9-spd rear der.
Record 9-spd down-tube shifters
Now, I know I need a front der., as well as a crank, chain, and cassette. The question is, since this is all "older" (but brand new) stuff, can I still buy NEW stuff to use it with, and if so - what do I need?
Seems like everytime I turn around there's a new 10 speed setup that's not compatible with anything else. Kinda like computers, eh?
Anyhow...any advice is welcomed.
I am also considering going the aero route instead of the d/t shifter route.
For the record, this is what I call a "classic, traditional" steel, lugged bicycle.
Thanks!
Andy
