you too. it's the failure of public
school system, parenting, or learning
how to drive with video games. it's
getting down right scary out there, I
even drive less myself.

You're right, we have quite a
combination in Arizona. We have illegal
immigrants, that have never driven
before, buy a used car with their first
paycheck, and can't wait to learn how to
drive at your expense. We have
snowbirds who are not familiar with the
roads, and tons of old people, some with
demensia. One old lady I saw driving,
had two wheels in the bike lane, and
drove that way the whole way that I
followed her. If there wasn't a bike
lane those two wheels would have been on
top of the curb. She seemed afraid of
the traffic going the other way, they
should hire her to drive a street
sweeper. A guy got hit last weekend,
that was on a 200K brevet, by a woman
coming out of a shopping center.
Separated shoulder, compressed disk and
a mangled bike. When I commute I often
have to ride through the carnage of yet
another car pileup at some intersection.
Everyone runs red lights here, because
if you don't, the guy in back of you
runs into you.

There is a phrase "dog in the manger". It means kind of mean
spirtednes. It came from a dog who would sit on the hay in the barn,
thus denying the farm animals use of that hay. The dog couldn't eat
the hay, but he stopped the other animals from eating the hay.

"Cranky" would probably be more accurate. I've seen way too many people
doing way too many stupid dangerous things while driving lately.
