Going into bike shops normally reveals plenty of shop specials as they want to move models out... TREK had a sale a month ago but the discount was superficial... Some Avantis were on special at my LBS too...
Just window shop, you never know what you'll find. You may even pick up a quality 2nd hand ulterga or dura ace equiped bike from a pro selling their ride through their shop...
