Need 105 brake hoods

These are for BL-1055 levers. A LBS had some in stock- not
that hard to find. They had them marked for Ultrega levers
but said that they would fit 105 levers.

Note- I have the BL-1050 levers and I had to modify the
hoods to fit- remove some inner knobs on the hoods designed
to go into slots that were in different spots. And they
don't fit perfectly around the upper edge. No problems in
use, and much cheaper than new levers. But if absolute
perfect is your goal, know your model number and be ready to
search if you have the 1050 levers.

In the past SJS Cycles (www.sjscycles.com) have had a
reasonable selection of old brake hoods.

I wonder if Plasti-Dip would make good brake hoods -- maybe
in combination with something else as a base layer, or at
least a few coats thick of Plasti-Dip.

If your current used hoods are for the BL-1055 model and are
black, I was wondering if you'd like to let them go for
cheap or trade them for a similar small part. I want to
switch black hoods (old and worn are fine) for the white
ones I now have on my campus bike. Let me know,

Dear Zog,

And they seem a bit haughty about searching, too. If Parker
International's site has a search option beyond whatever
your browser offers, it eluded me.

The next step up in U.K. internet convenience seems to be
the SJS Cycles that David Damerell suggested.

Their page offers a search, but you have to notice a sad
little "Click here, please don't press enter" warning to get
it to work. Otherwise, it just throws your request away. (It
still throws your search string away if you do click, but at
least it does search for things when tickled just right.)

Sorry they were white (acutally an ugly dirty ivory like
really old piano keys.) I threw them away.

Hi Ed, There are a bunch for sale...go to eBay. Go to eBay
Stores, lookup Renaissance-Cycles. They have them, a bunch
of them for $12.99 a pair. Get 2 pairs! I've bought
bunches from these folks, they are one of the best in the
world for new old stock, reasonably priced items. Shipping
can take a while, but it's worth the wait. They have them
in white. They also accept Paypal. They do a lot of
business, and seem to be family run. Good luck! David
