What are the rules/customs? Can those colors be worn during any TT stage? What about prologues? Team TTs? Does a road national champion, who otherwise wears his national colors all the time, have to wear standard team kit during a TT stage? Are there any races where a national road champion does not wear his colors?
BTW, I guess Poland is not strong in TT riders, as Mazur finished 118th. :p
To answer your original question... from my understanding and i stand to be corrected, a national or world TT champion is allowed to wear his or her championship colours for any TT or prologues they participate in, but only for the TT events.
Likewise a road race world or natonal champion is entitled to wear their particular jersey for any road race they take part in, but not in any TT or prolouge where they have to revert to normal team colours.
The exception to this is when the person has won both road race and TT at their nationals or world championship.
A rider in a race leaders jersey would be obliged to wear that and forfits the right to wear any other. Athough you might remember Tom Boonan had some natty rainbow stripes incorporated into the design of his Pro Tour leaders jersey ealier this season.
For some reason a national or world champion isn't allowed to defend their title wearing the jersey they won the previous year - never been able to work that one out as they're still technically champion.
The only races that i know of where a national or world champion might have to forefit their jesrey are post tour crits, as they like all the classification winners to wear their winners colours.
And just as a matter of interest a world or national champion is allowed to wear coloured bands on their sleeves to denote their success.
