I *HAVEN'T* ordered from Nashbar/Performance because of credit card issues and, more importantly, exorbitant and difficult shipping. I had an excellent transaction with http://3ringcycles.com (who are in the USA, will price-match and accept PayPal). Also, like many others here, I have enjoyed fast service and great prices from http://www.probikekit.com/(in the UK). -

Yeah, I buy stuff from time to time from Performance (and ProBikeKit and Sheldon). For Performance, I use an Amex card and I put the Australian merchant enquiries phone number in the comments/instructions field in the order form and then when they confirm the order by email, I reply with another reminder about verifying my address and giving them the Amex number again. I used to have problems with them but this approach seems to work. This is what NAB says in advice it gives to merchants:
"Remember, if you are suspicious of any requests prior to despatching the goods, please call 13 25 15 and select option "1" for "Extension 500". A specialist telephone consultant will assist you."
I don't think the 13 number will work from the US, but you might try it so you can ask the NAB experts what you should about your problem/challenge.
It took me a bit of work to get the appropriate Amex number and get my standard approach to Performance sorted out.
Anyway, what did you order from them?

In the end Amex verified me and the order was successful but NAB wouldn't! From now on I know whose services I will be using! ๐

And doesn't Amex have a better class of junk mail too?๐
