  1. So, we're into the second week of school now. My weight training class
is very low-key and I'm enjoying it.

Every night that we've had class, Led Zeppelin has come on the radio.

Tonight this one guy was bantering with the instructor about how some
guys don't work their whole arms; they'll work their biceps, but not
    their triceps.

I haven't seen him do a single leg exercise.

Does he make kissy noises at the mirror?

Does that improve your sex life Dally? How do you pick up the pieces
after it shatters? And where do you find a big enough mirror besides a
    fun house?

Excellent. You'll have to hook up with Will and company so you can
    compare the training.

Hehe. That's when you pull up your shorts and flex your quads in the
mirror while he's working his arms in front of that same mirror.

I'm definitely going to need to do that.

My instructor is the school's diving and gymnastics coach. She seems
very competent; I haven't heard her give any quack advice at all. I'm
really glad I signed up for the class. It's good to get back into a
    routine. I have been slacking.

I have to admit that I find it pretty amusing to watch these 22/23/24
year old guys working out. Some of them get it, some of them don't.

The DJ must be an old head. He'll never stop doing that,
because he can't remember the last time he did it, so he'll
do it tonight just for old time's sake.

    Not in the gym.

But I ride a bicycle when I'm not in the gym.

DJs have very little latitude in their music selections. Zep is
probably played a lot because it's popular and the residual payments
    are next to nothing.

Down the road, in a gym far away
a young man was heard to say
No matter what I do my legs won't grow
He tried leg extensions, leg curls, leg presses too
Trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do
From the corner of the gym
    where the big men train
    Through a cloud of chalk
and in the midst of pain
Where the big iron rides high
    and threatens lives
    Where the noise is made
    with big forty fives
    A deep voice bellowed
    as he wrapped his knees
    A very big man
    with legs like trees
Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack,
    Chalking his hands
    and monstrous back,
Said "BOY STOP LYING AND DON'T SAY YOU'VE FORGOTTEN.
TROUBLE WITH YOU IS YOU AIN'T BEEN SQUATTIN'."

We've listened to two different stations. One of them plays Zeppelin
every night from 6:00 to 6:30. I thought it was funny that the other
    station played them as well.

Of course, the only reason anything relating Zep to lifting is funny at
all is because of Jim, who isn't even posting here these days. But I
thought the regs would appreciate the joke.

How does riding a bicycle instead of doing squats reduce my IQ?
