    Also some useful information at
    http://www.stumptuous.com/younguns.html
(by and large, albeit not completely, at that age you can substitute "he" for
the "she" in the web pages.)

Hmmm..."He might want to skip squats during his monthly menstrual cycle"
    just doesn't read right.

Tell your son to add chinups and deep knee bends to his pushups. And
Google youth weight training. Oh, here:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=youth+weight+training&btnG=Google+Search

    From there, I found these:

    http://kidshealth.org/parent/nutrition_fit/fitness/strength_training.html

    http://www.azcentral.com/health/kids/articles/0125ob25exercise.html

    And from http://www.answers.com/topic/weight-training

Is weight training safe for children?
Orthopedic specialists used to recommend that children avoid weight
training because the growth plates on their bones might be at risk, but
recent studies have shown that this concern is unfounded. The very rare
reports of growth plate fractures in children who trained with weights
occurred as a result of inadequate supervision, improper form or excess
weight. "Growth plate injuries have not occurred in any youth strength
training study that followed established training guidelines." [16] (
    http://kidshealth.org/parent/nutrition_fit/fitness/strength_training.html
    )

However, young children must be supervised around weight training
equipment. Like adults, they may be injured if a weight is dropped, or
if they perform an exercise incorrectly. But, being children, they may
also forget to follow the safety guidelines, or be tempted to act
    irresponsibly.

    http://www.stumptuous.com/younguns.html offers a sample program.
Although she suggested it as a routine for a teenage girl, it may prove
as a useful template for your son. Obviously, it would be wise to seek
out the help of a trained professional in your area. Best of luck.

I got my first weight set at age 15. It's great that you're encouraging
    your son's interest in weights.

First of all, Curt's interested in your sons booty, not weight training
(yes he's one of "them"😉. Second, Curt's training regimen consists of
your son sitting on his lap. He's registered with his local PD, so
    check their website.

    Hey!

    I did say "not completely".

And _I_ didn't type the line - you did.

It's ok. Nobody will hold it against you.

Of course not. That would be really gross.

I'm much too thin to portray Santa. It's not nearly close enough to
December as well. And unless his "son" is Kim Basinger, I'm not
interested in the child sitting on my lap.

That's the age I started. Have him do bench, deadlift, rows, squats
(probably have to do front squats unless you buy him a cage) and
military presses as well as cleans for 2-3 sets of 10, adding weight
when the last sets are relatively easy. He doesn't need to do all the
exercises on the same day either. Have him mix it up a little.
