My second cat 4 race - another video for you guys to watch.

Oh ****! The Otter Box goes into low earth orbit as the iphone is jettisoned!

Pro Tip: a couple of heavy rubber bands around the phone give it enough grip to keep it in your pocket during the wildest head-down sprint.

Another great video, Collin! Thanks!

Great tip.

I love it when they combine women's Cats in with the men who end up waxing the floor with half the blokes. If ever there was an incentive to train harder...

Couple years ago when I upgraded to the 4's I was lining up at the start of the first seasons race and there was a super hottie a couple riders down from me who's acquaintance I was thinking I would try and make after the race (they put the Cat3 ladies in with the Cat4 men). Needles to say I had not done my homework on the bike that pre-season and the last thing I remember seeing of her was that beautiful tail as the hammer went down and I was jestisoned out the back. Alas I never saw her again.

"Great tip."

Works for me!

Note: It will NOT save the screen of your phone when emulating a Sagan wheelie...and you end up going over and landing on it. Neither will it straighten out the folded up seat rails...

Damn, that's a lot of traffic to train in! Love the 87 blown stop signs! Passing cars on the right and left...vehicles splitting the pack...drafting unknown drivers...freds jumping onboard...sketchy bike handling...SPRINTING thru stop signs!!!. Yeah, that's a typical hammerfest.

"I live a life of danger and excitement!"

That's why they call it the Goon Ride. F**k the law as it pertains to everyone else and ride like a Goon. Since they can do 28mph up 11% hills, maybe they figure they can outrun cop cars...

Great workout, Collin! You moved up! Beat the **** out of that bike aqnd yourself and blast by every other rider you encounter like you were passing the ghost of Tommy Simpson!

Gagging for air and huffing into the regroupment point before the pack...coolly grabbing a fresh bottle! Freakin' awesome! Is there anything better than this in life, Conan?

Hell NO! Hells frackin' NO!

Best amateur vids of the year!

haha thanks Bob. I gotta have you do voice over on my videos. You have a lot of passion for the sport - it's much appreciated.

Collin,

When I was your age we didn't have all the fun electronic toys you do. I'm glad you're documenting your training rides. I think the training rides with team mates and friends was the most fun part of my long involvement with bicycle racing. I only have the memories and a few still pictures of what I did 40+ years ago. When you get to be my age it's going to be very cool to go to YouTube and watch your young self and long gone friends demolishing the roads around Va. and Maryland.

I sent a link to this thread to a couple of the 'kids' I train with. They will enjoy watching a few minutes of your fun, I'm sure.

It looks like you've got a good bunch of fast legs to ride with. That WILL make a better racer out of you.

The weird thing is...I think I've seen enough of your locale that I could probably do a couple of your routes without getting lost!

You're absolutely right. It's gotten to the point where I feel off if I don't have a camera rolling - as if what I'm doing won't be remembered or seen by anyone and it feels less satisfying. I still love cycling for its own sake but knowing that I can share my ride and go back and see it again is magical, which is exactly what it takes for me to shell out all the cash for these expensive cameras.

Anyways I appreciate the interest, thanks for watching my rides.

Here's the 1 minute highlights of today's goon ride.
