My second cat 4 race - another video for you guys to watch.

Thank you,
Here is the second part of the Tour.

I finally got out there for a group ride again. I did really well. I wasn't the strongest one out there of course but I smashed all my PRs chasing the fast guys. There's links in the video description on the youtube page for the climbs. I got dropped on the last one because I got a side stitch. I read that breathing out completely helps avoid them so I'll try to incorporate that next time.

You dropped all the carbon deep section aero wheel guys!

Hills: How do they work?

I saw 17% ramps. It doesn't take many of those to separate the fit from the fashion.

Can't beat some spring time fun on the Puig Major and Soller. They don't climb a massive amount but they were always a welcome break from the cold and rain around the northwest of England... Tenerife is ace too. Tiede is fun but overrated - the road to Masca is where it's at. It's one climb that'll hurt your arms as much on the way down as it does on the way up. The countless hairpins on the climb out of Masca > Alpe d'Huez.

That one spot kills everybody but the best. Then when it's over there's plenty of false flat to look forward to where you feel like you're working but your speedometer is telling you otherwise.

Yeah, you know you've got to grab a gear and get it turning, but it's all you've got to keep the 21 or 23 rolling. I try not to look at the single-digit speedometer reading and focus on the guys in front of me and kick like hell to keep them from in my sights.

You're riding well, Collin. Keep up the effort!

BTW, the guys I train with won the Clyde category and finished second in the 2-man team category at the Hilly Billy Roubaix last Saturday. 70 miles of dirt roads, gravel roads, mud, single track and 7000+ feet of climbing.

Talk about miles of Strade Bianche! Last year it was 100 degree heat. This year, hours of rain and muck packed all over the bikes.

Wow, nothings going to help you get through that terrain but pure power. That looks far worse the paris roubaix.

Yeah...a whole load of Watts. The roads...if that's what you call them...suck the power out of the legs and the very steep terrain and constant climbing just drain the snap out of you in a hurry.

For some reason, this type of racing (I hear it called "Extreme Cyclocross" and "Gravel Grinders") is getting popular around my area. It really hard on the bikes and tires get shredded. It's a hellova accomplishment to finish well in one of these events.

I've only had time to ride on my own lately. The lack of fast group rides has taken it's toll on me as evidenced by the strong guys kicking my butt on these rolling hills.

You're never officially a slug until the guy with the rear view mirror stuffed into his handlebar comes around you!

Wife? Do you want us to end up looking like Jan after sailing through the back window? My wife only knows "Full Gas" and "Stand On The Brakes It's A Yard Sale!".

Collin, there's some nice homes along River Road.

Very nice, Cube! The view from the Gamin Virb sure looks spectacular. I may have to get one of those to go with the 510 I'm now using.

Great background music again.

Sorry Cube, I must disagree with Bob on this one, I prefer your ethereal sounds from past vids way better. The sooner you return to the old format the better, at least for me anyways.

Good example:

Btw, who is that strong looking blonde girl in the blue black and red kit at 1:04, I'd love to make her acquaintance if I was ever in your neck of the woods ;)

Hey, you know me! I'm all inclusive and love diversity! And anything that proves Germans dig more than just techno.

And remember...every time you hear the wind machine in that video you brought up you HAVE to down your beer! THAT'S der rulz!

I'd be drunk as a skunk... that things going off like every 10 seconds!
