to mind is 'woeful'. The pages are bland, the font could be
better, the pages don't seem to be structured that well, the
spelling is bad... I could go on, but the one thing that is
more important than anything else in web design is content,
and quite frankly, yours has none.

It's not about not being able to use the back button in the
browser, but if I go down 5 layers in a hierarchical
structure (as you appear to be planning) then I don't want
to be repeatedly hitting the back button. A well-designed

Be honest with yourself. If you were a stranger looking at
your own website, would you bother hanging around? Would you
think it was well done? When I'm working on my site, I
always take a lot of time looking at the design of other
sites and one that I always come back to for inspiration is
Pete's (petefagerlin.competefagerlin.comOpen ↗). Now, you probably
don't want to do as professional job as that, but it should
give you an idea of how much work you've got to do.

As i have pointed out before, it is a work in progress, it
gets more stuff. i hope to be finished by fall, so next
year, it can be perfect, and i may have it added to our
local information web site

display right. i do plan to work on learning, but i dont
have the time to invest in learning
it.

I use the pagebuilder option with geocities, type in a text
box and place it where ever.

I am sorry, but i dont know html, i use the page

not a home link, but a nav bar, most sites that try to be
user friendly ghave them.

Well I know sod all about web pages. But just for interest I
sent Petes page to my friend Fred Burnett who keeps a jazz
page for the oldies like me. Without comment he sent back

Within a month the text will be done. The maps, and pics
will take a bit longer. -- i will be puting my first map up
soon(day or two)

My friends say that i am off to a good start.

I am not building this site for computer geeks. I am making
it for mountain bikers. If you have a problem with the
flashyness, i dont care, i dont want [censored] on it. Trails, and
Trail info is what it is all about.

You're right. It's not about flashiness, in fact, excessive
flashiness detracts from a website. Content is the most
important thing - just present all your information well,
make it interesting and make it easy to navigate.
