My first-ever "gesticulator"

I encountered my first-ever "gesticulator" yesterday. Was cycling home. Ajoining road on left-hand side. Van pulls up at junction just as I go past. Van driver shouts something. People have shouted stuff at me from other vehicles in the past, but I can never hear what they say due to the various velocities involved. I'm sure they think they're being hilariously funny. Anyway, a few seconds pass and van overtakes me. With no uncertain terms, the driver suggests, with the use of hand signals, that I practice the act of, er, "self-abuse". He does this both through the passenger window as he goes past and in the passenger's mirror as he accelerates away. I am too bemused to react in any way as it was completely unprovoked. In hindsight, I would have done what one person on here suggested a while back, which was to blow the culprit a kiss as he went away. Oaf

I'm brave enough to do that when I'm also in a car, not sure it would
be a good idea when on the bike though ;-)

Ain't life cruel? Why does it have to be so difficult to moon someone
when you're cycling? 😉
