My first Audax whoo-ooo!!!

BTW I see Mr L has managed to get his viz in the AUK photo gallery; I
got snapped by Chris B at Glastonbury but must have bust the lens ;-)

Probably, but I'll have to see how I feel after riding up there on
Friday. There seems to be some problem with that though. Apparently the
organisator phoned my wife during the weekend and told her that
personal arrows to York are not allowed, only team ones, but I may be
able to do a dart instead. I can't find anything in the handbook about
this (looking on pages 44 and 45) so I need to get hold of him.

Yes, I'm afraid so. The Kernow was a brilliant ride. It was lumpy of
course, but actually not quite as bad as I'd expected. Hardest bits
were the 35 mile main road drag the second time into Bude while
suffering a sleep attack, and the sting in the tail of climbing out of
Seaton, Beer, and Branscome in quick succession on the last stage.

I got dive-bombed by the buzzard too. As I headed east from Bude in the
early hours of Sunday morning he swooped down and snatched my
headscarf. Luckily he's a bit of a snob so when he realised it was only
a Tchibo one and not a real buff he dropped it in the road, and I was
able to retrieve it. If you've never been whacked on the head by a
buzzard you'd be surprised how hard they hit.

On the first ride through Buzzard Alley on Saturday morning Richard
Harding deliberately took a detour to avoid the area. You cannot cheat
fate, however, and he was later attacked by a different buzzard on the
way into Looe. I think the Cornish branch of the provisional RAC are
training them.

I also got snapped on the Severn Across in 2003 full AUK kit as well
and that never appeared; might ask the photographer for a copy

I'd already decided that 200km was too ambitious at this early stage in my
Audaxing career.
