I'd support the tool on a socket or slightly open jaws of a vise and drive the shaft back through
the tool with the hammer. It's probably just press fit in there. But while you're cussing it, that
little shaft comes in real handy when you have a QR hub.

Sorry Jon, but a hacksaw won't work because after you're done cutting it the pin will be flush with
the end of the tool and still hit the axle when you try to put it in the lockring.

The shaft is a nice feature if you have a quick-release hub. The shaft fits into the hollow axle and
holds the tool in place.

ep iza supposed to be humor, jon. itsa ep week.ep is not those other words you so casually inflict
on us. the tool's shaft is down inside the socket body and if your hacksaw reaches down in there i
strongly suggest a trip to the local patent lawyer 'cuase we are going to line up around the block
for this one no problem. pick up some b vitamins when your out, maybe the temporal lobe reading
problem your suffering from will respond. On the other hand if you're inventing like this hay why
not,right? Fast! all kidding aside, the tool's design implies some function fopr a shaft to go WELL,
WE GOT THE SHAFT!! and it goes down into a skewer-those axle things the in crowd uses for quick tire
work.I am impressed. unduly.

and report back. I used the medium size channellocks on the lockring. Available pressure from
channelocks- a pipe channel lock with a curved section within the jaw bodies-squooze the unit to
puckering so i guess that's tight enough and hohum i guess icanna file the rings sides flat for
removal. THE NASHBAR TOOL IS PERFECTLY OK AND ALL DISPARATE COMMENTS SHUD BE TAKEN AS HUMOR.THE TOOL
IS A GOOD VALUE AT THE PRICE AS IS THE ENTIRE NASHBAR TOOL RANGE.I SUPPLICATE.and thanks! I did not
run over the tool and break it into little pieces. The people who have modified the tool are not
going to write. EP!! Theragonnna wait till I drive it out and crack the EP into five pieces thus

You bought an FR-5G (g as in guide-rod.) You should have bought a normal FR-5, or perhaps the 5C (c
as in chunkier.)

Oddly enough, they also sell the rod separately, and it taps into place. Perhaps you can tap your
out of place.

and further-I find the shimano thin wall freewheel remover slips right dab into the cassette
lockring!! totally unexpected!! holy volvo!! now I have 3!! gotta try the shim chain lube.

One of the three cluster removers isa Shimano UG heavy duty from Bicycle Research Tools.Its
ugly.Yech. But it is "unbreakable." If planning, to repack and adjust the axle for wear each time
the unit is pulled or inspected, the UG is a good tool.It will not slip over the axle nuts. Too
thick walled. . Re: bent rear dr hanger: a searchable heading in bike.tech has a piece on using
channellocks on the ring.Its in FRENCH!! Channellock use on bicycles improves if the channellocks
are filed flat on the jaw sides' surfaces. the tool gets sufficient grip after filing so the jaws
mate flush against the surface the nut or better the bolt headfastens too. A thin channellocks thus
filed can be fit to the cup nut inboard the CRings.
