If you want to see bicycles Amsterdam is the place to go, I could not belive
the amount of bicycles that were chained to the railings.
Many of them were vandalised and looked like they had been there for a long
time.

Have a closer look, it may not be abandoned, ...looks like a ladies bike, that is ULocked to the pole and has slipped over, the rims may appear buckled on the back, but I think they are fine, the front one is OK, nice chromed fork too, and looks like a Brooks saddle.....and the angle of the front wheel suggests it just slipped down the pole ( nudged by snow plough-FedEx Truck) No one on the streets, probably all in the bar under the CN tower warming hands...

bear in mind I am look at them through my new $650 Oakley Multi-Focal Transition Prescription lenses and after 1 hour I havn't got used to them at all....(sheesh...finding the targets to look through such weenzie lenses.... well I got $200 back from the Health Fund...still a pricey necessity to see tho!)

*enough Sherkock Holmes stuff ...back to red wine and crackers...now where is the Cab Sav bottle ?...it's here somewhere... (inhales for aroma clue) *

ruddy multifocals. they move the hot spots from where you are used to looking with larger lenses and make them critical, so if you dont look through the spot ( in my case the close vision spot) you miss it...and you've got to target the exact spot first then train your eyes to look there, adjust your head positition and hope the whole process doesnt take too long to become a reflex...

cant get laser surgery because of astygmatisms and other hassles I caused as a kid mucking around with wood splinters, beer bottles and caps that wouldnt come off...

we can blame a lot of our aging ills on our childhood !! (that's my story)

BUT, I eventually found the Cab Sav...woohoo!

I had a pair and gave them back for a refund after two days. Then I
lost my reading glasses and after a few days discovered I didn't need
them any more! Woohoo! Now I've got some leave-in contacts and seem to
be adapting to them too. Life is good. So is the bottle of red I've
just started. Ooops, where's it gone? Wife!! Aah, thanks, who needs
specs?

I knew of someone who could open bottle caps via a deft maneuver with their eyebrows. Surely you weren't up to similar highjinks as a kid .. 😉
