Last fall, I had problems with waking up at 3 am, inability to lose weight (even though I was in
ketosis for months), and also with muscle soreness/weakness. It went away when I started taking
metformin, and I was able to do a full workout every day. However, since summer has come, the
problem has returned. At this point my theory is that when my cortisol rises, the insulin resistance
in my muscles also rises to the point where my muscles are starving. Does anybody have any idea
about what I can do?

Are you taking Lipitor or another cholesterol drug? Lipitor gave me severe muscle pain. Several
people I know had the same reaction. I think I get soreness from Zocor, but it's nothing compared
to Lipitor."Cynthia" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

You might have one or more totally different medical problems. My muscle soreness related to a bad
thyroid and bad veins in my legs. Once those things got under control, no more soreness. Thyroid can
also affect weight.--

If you are taking a statin anti-cholesterol med such as Lipitor, Pravachol, Zocor, Mevacor,
Lescol, muscle soreness/weakness is a sign of a very serious side effect.Sorry, no idea about any other causes.

Most medical problems do seem to be related to poor blood sugar control.

Not in my case.

Why would not eating enough cause muscle soreness? I should think it would cause stomach pains
from hunger. If you are concerned about not getting enough nutrients from your food, a simple
blood test can identify any deficiencies. I once had a potassium deficiency and that caused the
symptoms you describe.--

I have seen posts that say the use of certain diabetic pills can cause problems with disposal of
lactic acid.Years ago I noted a problem with very tired and sore muscles that I thought was normal. When I
discontinued a certain pill it abated.Maybe someone is aware of the problem, since I have seen it posted before and post on it.
