I'm looking at buying a 24" KH Freeride or XC, but either one costs so much that I would have to use it for general riding on the street as well as Muni.
Would changing the tyre for street riding have to be a consideration? If so, what would be a good street tyre for a KH Freeride? A KH XC?
Any opinions as to which would be better if I did this(XC or Freeride)? Does anyone else ride your Muni a lot on the street?
A friend of mine has used a 24" Muni for trials & street for a long time, its a little different to a 20" but perfectly usable and can even be beneficial at times. A good tyre for street would be something like a Maxxis Hookworm, Justin Kohse uses one on his street 24. They're quite slimline though, so not much shock absorbtion or bounce for trials. You'll probably be ok doing trials on a Muni/Offroad tyre, at least for the time being.

The good thing about a 24" Muni is that you can do pretty much anything on it. If you want one uni for street and Muni it would be the best size to buy. Then later on if you find yourself doing more trialsy stuff you can save up and get a trials uni as well, or likewise if you find you like XC muni better then you could get a 29" as well.
The best situation would be to have a unicycle of every size, but if like me you can only afford one then a 24" muni is a good place to start.

I believe the hookworm is 24x2.5, technically thats just as wide as a trials tire, would this not provide just as much bounce or does the larger circumference of the wheel affect this?
Yeah i learned on a 24 MUni, i ride street, trials and ofcourse downhill when i get a chance to. i do more riding in the street with my MUni 24x2.6 tire than downhill.
