munda biddi trail

I have not done it myself but they sometimes talk about it in Lonely Planets Thorn Tree. I did a search for Munda Biddi and got the result below, hopefully the link works.

I havent riden any parts of the trail, but have a look here mundabiddi.org.aumundabiddi.org.auOpen ↗and try one of the events as a novice or even just rock up and have a look at the bikes being used. I suggest a basic mountain bike would suffice and even better if it had dual suspension as it is a forest track and can get a little rough.

I've ridden the Munda Biddi a few times mate. I use an aluminium framed Trek hardtail with rear panniers and a day pack. I've seen a few people who forgo cooking and go from hut to hut with just a handlebar back and top back on the rear rack.

Ridden it a couple of times. I ride a Giant Perigee with 700 x 42c tyres and tow a bob yak trailer. Lot of pea gravel on the top end of track. Rest of track in good cond. Takes 5 days from top to bottom. Well worth the ride...

Oziedave you must have been reading my mind. I am going to buy myself a Perigee and was wondering how it would go on the trail. How do you find the bike in general and what year is yours?

Brought mine late dec 2006. Top bike have ridden over 6800 kays on it since. Use it for everything. Brought two sets of tyres. 700 x 23 for road and 700 x 42 for the dirt.

Have ridden it across australia towing a trailer. Mine is the purple model. The only thing to brake is two spokes (my own fault).
Very fast off road. I leave my mates for dead off road. Take it easy in the very rought stuff but flies on the open... I use mine every day and tour off road most weekends with either panniers or trailer..
