Hi all,
Did anyone here from Brisbane go in the Cootha ride yesterday?
I did and I can report it was a fun day out. Strangely you could put a
timing chip on and they measured your speed up the mountain. I say
strangely because I did not see a display anywhere showing what the time
was. In my case given that I got off and had a breather half way up, I
think that it was for the best.
It was fun though. At one point there was a very friendly cyclist (aren't
we all?) next to me who was calling out good morning to the people around
her/bewildered spectators. I say bewildered as we passed a group of people
by the roadside who stared blankly back when she said good morning. I think
this was around Graceville-ish and I heard another cyclist point out that
they were probably too wealthy to need to say good morning.
When the ride finished I did regret my election to ride to and from the
event home - the course undulated much more than I expected and I was
stuffed when it was over.
It occurred to me I am well overdue for a new chain. I have one of those
chains with the link that does not require chain tool to remove it Connex??
Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cheapest place to get them here
in Brisbane, Oz or recommendations for other chains?
Thanks,
BtC
