The guy died at 72 - be it from a heart attack or a slip, it's not like he died early. That's a
pretty typical life expectancy for a guy born in the 30s. It's a bit sad that people can't let the
quack rest in peace. The estate is doing great- "Atkin's approved" has become a certifying force in
this eating fad. How long will it last is the main mystery.

Well considering he really didn't win the first time if it wasn't for his brother's help, you are
probably right. I mean that family has much too much power and money for us commoners to think we
could vote him out even if we wanted to. He has the NASCAR people eating out of his hand and all
military and oil people will be voting for him. The Bush family is a very very powerful family and
I suspect they can not be voted out no matter what the popular vote will be. Just think how much
money Chaney will be making now that they have control of all that oil. I would imagine Bush will
get some nice kick-backs as well. Who cares the whole world now hates us and we are in a financial
ruin due to the mass spending on a useless so-called war? As long as we can drive an H2 and work
like dogs and keep up with the debt we are happy. The US is in the worst shape in my lifetime. You
think we are hated around the world now... wait until he is voted back in for another term. That
will confirm to the world that we are the arrogant aggressors that people already think we are. He
will be in another term IMHO. I won't vote for him, but people that don't understand global
thinking will and if it is close they have the connections to do what they want. If you don't think
that is true, take a look at the Florida votes from the past and the last election. Lots of vote
thrown away. I just don't think people want to believe that can happen here, but 30 years from now
someone will be on 20/20 saying..yeah, I was ordered to dump ballots and I followed my orders. It
will come out someday.

I've made this point many times. I once worked with a really great salesman. He said that the most
important thing to do in restaurant meetings with clients was to order the same type of food that
the client ordered.

Think about it. You are a Jewish Democrat sitting down to eat with an Evangelical fundamentalist
Christian Republican. He orders a blood red 16 ounce NY steak, baked potato with sour cream, fried
oninon rings, and a lemonade (he's an evangelical, after all). You order blood red prime rib, the

an iced tea.

You are well on your way to closing the deal.

Due to redistricting after the 2000 Census, Bush had already gained 13 Electoral votes as California
was the only Democratic stronghold that grew in size. I suspect he'll let CA go again, but perhaps
not with Arnold in power now. In a close election, choosing to skip this state would likely result
in a split EC/popular vote result.

But...he's not competing against a 2 term incumbent this time. Kerry looks a lot like the last MA
candidate 4 elections ago.

Are you 18? I'd put the 77-82 stretch much higher up, or even kick it back to 74 when Nixon finally
got tossed. Or hell, when LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident and got tens of thousands of
